Job Summary

As a Front-End Web Developer (Shopify Specialist) at RacerX.AI, you will be responsible for improving the user experience and performance of Shopify pages for our clients. You will work closely with our development and data science teams to implement custom themes, optimize loading speeds, and ensure the best possible user experience. This role is essential in ensuring that our clients’ Shopify stores are visually appealing, fast, and optimized for conversions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and customize Shopify themes, ensuring high performance, scalability, and a seamless user experience.
• Optimize the speed of Shopify storefronts by implementing web performance best practices (e.g., lazy loading, image compression, sprite usage).
• Collaborate with the design team to implement responsive and mobile-first designs.
• Work closely with data scientists and DevOps engineers to optimize web performance, loading times, and resource usage.
• Integrate third-party apps, plugins, and APIs into Shopify stores while ensuring that performance remains optimal.
• Maintain clean, reusable, and scalable code, ensuring best practices in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues related to front-end development on Shopify.
• Stay up to date with the latest Shopify features and best practices to enhance the customer experience.
• Conduct performance audits and implement optimizations based on findings.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into high-performing and visually compelling Shopify storefronts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Front-End Web Developer, with a focus on Shopify development.
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Liquid, Shopify’s templating language.
• Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques (lazy loading, minification, compression).
• Familiarity with Shopify API and third-party integrations.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js) is a plus.
• Ability to create responsive, mobile-first designs.
• Strong knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote-first, collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Shopify Plus and handling large-scale Shopify stores.
• Familiarity with performance monitoring tools like Google Lighthouse, GTMetrix, or WebPageTest.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and how they integrate with Shopify.
• Experience with custom app development for Shopify.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for front-end development.
